Kitchen and Food

There are plenty of great restaurants and fast foods around you, and it would be a boring to cook your usual food. Make sure you visit Fish House restaurant if you are a fish lover. If you seek something close to you, the Zgara Korçare downstairs provides a good meal for a reasonable budget. Do not miss out the Pelikan Pasticeri if you like sweets.

Drinkable water

The main advice is, drink only bottled water. Although it felt okay to drink the tap water after boiling, this is a general recommendation. Better to stay safe and avoid having a spoiled vacation. You can buy 5L or 10L canisters in the stores downstairs, usually for around 100 LEK.

The Stove

The stove may not start even after pressing the power button or setting a heat level. Our theory is that, sadly, the stove runs on Windows 11 and needs a restart from time to time. Locate the fuses on the wall next to the entrance door, switch the main fuse off, wait at least 20 seconds, and turn it back on. This trick should help. Repeat once more if it does not work.

The Dishwasher

Please leave the dishwasher open when you are heading home to avoid a weird smell for the next visitors. Also, the big plates do not fit into the dishwasher due to an unexplainable mistake during the equipment phase.

The Fridge

Although it is nice and thoughtful of you, do not leave stuff in the fridge at your departure. Most people are suspicious and will want to purchase their own food despite your kindness. Throw away any unfinished food and check that the fridge is closed.

The trash

In Albania, the buildings do not have their own waste containers. The municipality installed a number of containers around the city. You are lucky—there is one very close to you, check these locations.

Please do not leave the plastic bags in the street. The stray dogs will love you for it; however, it is not their habit to clean the mess after they tear the bags and pick the delicacies you left them.
